"PORTALS TO STEAM" SUBJECT SERIES

Our "Portals to STEAM" mural series opens a whole new perspective to each subject, transforming six of the campus stairways to an engaging Portal to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Each mural is designed to make the viewer feel like they can step into the subjects, illustrating the lessons with a narrative of applied peer learning. Our mission is to excite imagination and critical thought as they walk between classes to further engage passion for learning.

"Mathematics Portal"
This mural highlights the passion for Mathematics as a team of students work together to design, build, and launch a rocket into space. The design incorporates a strong architectural frame, ornate with tessellated patterns. Beyond the archway is an artistic arrangement and story telling of mathematic principals and their application. Included are the golden mean, algebraic equations pertaining to rocketry, physics and several geometry references. Alongside the mathematic imagery the viewer follows an inspiring story with a cast of students building a rocket, beginning with the planning phase, construction, launch preparation and blast off.
Installed in the main campus stairway between the 2nd & 3rd floors. Mural dimension 14’x18’.
"Science Portal"
This mural highlights Science through the beauty and passion for nature, framed with architectural pillars and ornate tessellated patterns of DNA. Beyond the archway portal is an artistic arrangement and storytelling of scientific principals. Subject imagery includes ecology, optics, hydrodynamics, geology, biology, chemistry, climatology, physics, field science, conversions, biodiversity and oceanography. Alongside the scientific imagery, the viewer follows an inspiring story with a cast of students studying various elements of our Earth and working as a team.
Installed in the main campus stairway between the 2nd & 3rd floors. Mural dimension 14’x18’.
